Wau-ri, Geonggi-Do, South Korea

I wrote this song about a beautiful 20 year old young Korean lady named "KATE". The daughter and only child of my Korean boss and friend. Became friends with them in my country, the Philippines where they studied the english language. Kate was in grade school then. After about 3 years, they moved to the U.S. for her High School education up until she's about to go to college. I went to South Korea to work in her father's Bar and Music Lounge in November 2014. She returned home to Korea mid 2015 for her long break before she goes to Med school. She wanted to be a doctor... A dream that has ended before it began. Kate took her own life on January 23, 2016 inside her room, in their home. Why? ...I guess we'll never, ever know.

Lyrics

"KATE"
Songwriter: Erwin M. Palugod

There you are, like a mist in the morning sun.
You are so beautiful, oh yes, you are.
But with those beautiful eyes and your sweetest smile,
hides a wounded, bleeding heart,
you have chosen to keep inside.
If I could only turn back time?

There you were, very young and was so free.
You've been to places, oh yes you have.
Though young and beautiful, the world was in your hands.
The cost of your freedom,
It's still hard to comprehend.
If I could only turn back time?

I wish I could have been your friend.
I would have been there to hold your hand.
But the world just isn't fair, you know?
Now I'm crying 'cause it hurts me so, Oh girl.

There you were, you left just like a breeze.
You were so beautiful, oh yes, you were.
And those beautiful eyes and those sweetest smiles,
are now just memories,
here in my heart, you'll always be.
If I could only turn back time?...
If I could only turn back time?

I wish I could have been your friend.
I would have been there to hold your hand.
But the world just isn't fair, you know?
Now I'm crying 'cause it hurts me so, Oh girl.

I wish I could have been your friend.
I would have been there to hold your hand.
But the world just isn't fair, you know?
Now I'm crying 'cause it hurts me so, Oh girl.
